The Little Blue Box

My husband always jokes that I wear everything he ever gave me on my left hand and arm. He's right. I wear my wedding band and engagement ring, my Micheal Kors watch and my Pandora bracelet every single day all on my left hand/arm.

I like layering lots of different bracelets, it's kind of something I've been obsessed with lately (okay, let's be honest, I think I've been obsessed with something in every post I've made this week).

I remember watching Brad's season of The Bachelor and loving how Emily Maynard always wore a TON of bracelets on one arm:

(check out her blog, it's amazing!)

In keeping with the everything on my left arm theme, I decided to purchase something I have coveted for a very long time.  My mom generously sent me some birthday money and she wanted me to buy something I'd wear all the time and I immediately knew what that would be.
Can you guess?

I finally got the Tiffany silver bead bracelet I have been wanting for a long time:

 (buy it here)
Isn't it pretty?  It's so classic and simple.  I absolutely love it and I know it will be an everyday staple for me.

I also picked up this adorable Return to Tiffany™ bead bracelet.  They have a lot of these teeny bracelets and they are just so cute and delicate and look so sweet layered with other bracelets. I also have my eye on the Onyx one:

Thanks to my mom for these lovely gifts!  I was a very lucky gal this year.

xoxo,

Veronika.

PS- which jewelry item is on YOUR wish list?
PSS- I will probably get a lot of questions about how mine and my mom's relationship has been going, since I've been quite open about it on this blog. The truth is, it's a never-ending journey. Right now I'm in "A Place of Yes" (a-la Bethenny's book) about it all. I am trying to look at the positive and seeing what the future holds...with caution, of course. Thanks for your support!

Birthday Post: Happenings & Shopping

This birthday entry is late. Way late. But I have to share it because I had such an amazing birthday!  As I mentioned in a previous post, my H and I went to Austin, Texas

We spent the first day at our hotel, enjoying the pool. I read the entire way to Austin and the entire time at the pool and I finished an incredible book: "A Place of Yes," by Bethenny Frankel. I will do a more in-depth review eventually, but I have to say, it's a must-read.  I learned so much from it and could actually relate to a lot of her experiences, especially with her family.  I highly recommend this book. I actually want to read all of her other books now because she has such a great writing style and is really relateable---she tells it like it is and doesn't apologize for it.
Me, at the pool, reading "A Place of Yes." It was SO hot that day.
Later on that day, we went out for dinner (Mexican food, YUM!) and then we went and saw "The Hangover 2."  It was funny but pretty much the same plot as the first movie, just a different location. I also got some cupcakes from Hey Cupcake! in Austin (which I mentioned in a previous post I wasn't impressed with compared to other cupcakes I have tried).  They were good, but not "OMG I want to eat 10 of them" amazing. The customer service was great though, they even gave me a birthday candle and sang to me!

These are the outfits I wore on the first day of our trip (sorry about the bad lighting!)

The next day, we drove to Lake Austin to stay at my best friend's boyfriend's home on the lake. It was seriously like heaven being there. The house was right on the lake with a massive swimming pool and volley ball court.

(the view from our room)

We went out on the boat, hung out by the pool and just relaxed.  At night, we went out for dinner to a great place in the Austin hills---they had live music. It was super windy but it was such a fun night with great people!

Candice & I before dinner!

I had the BEST birthday weekend---it was so laid back and relaxing, just what I needed. Monday morning we all had brunch and it was delish!

Because it was Memorial Day weekend, I knew the sales would be crazy, so on the way home from Austin we hit the Domain mall. I didn't find anything I liked there and we decided to stop in at the Outlets on 290 in Cypress to check out their sales too.  Let's just say I scored, big time.

Yes my friends, you are looking at two pairs of Kate Spade shoes. Classic black pumps and peep-toes.  Guess how much I paid for them? $77 for BOTH pairs. Total. They were on sale PLUS 40% off. How could I have passed these up? I was so happy, it was definitely birthday luck that they had both pairs in my size!

I also got this awesome hat from Ann Taylor. I have been obsessed with hats lately. I just cannot stop buying them. I paid $20 for this one (it was 40% off as well):

Cute, and it protects your face and scalp from the sun! Sign me up! :)

The last thing I bought was this adorable dress from the Banana Republic outlet.  It was originally $120 and I paid $13.97. I felt like I was stealing!

Oh---and the skinny brown belt? Got it at the J. Crew outlet for $5.  It was a successful shopping trip!

Lastly, for my birthday, I got some more Pandora charms for my bracelet!  They are SO cute!  These are from my mother and father in law.  The new ones are the queen bee, cupcake and tea pot!

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes in my previous post and thank you, as always, for reading.

Veronika.

Busy Busy

Ladies,

I am so sorry but I have been working late all week (didn't get home until 10:30 last night) and I have not had any chances to really blog like I want to.

So, I'm going to leave you all with this for now.  This is what I woke up to every morning on our weekend getaway to Austin.  I was so lucky to stay in a beautiful home with great friends and my H, of course. Kind of wishing I was still there:

and here is my birthday cupcake:

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes and MAJOR THANKS to everyone who has been SO PATIENT about my blog sale!  I promise to send things out by next week.

xoxo,

Veronika.

27, Sunscreen Rave & Birthday Wrap-Up

It's 12:02 a.m. right now, which means my 27th birthday is officially over, and it was such a great one!

I started my day today with a Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte and a spinach egg wrap.  Perfection. If only every day could start that way.

Then my husband some friends and I headed to the Four Seasons for some pool time (because really, you can't ever really have enough pool time.)  There were a lot of people there so we didn't stay long, but it was fun and relaxing nevertheless.

After the pool we had mexican food as a late lunch and called it a day.  I spent the rest of the afternoon watching TV and taking naps.

As I woke from one of my naps, I realized I needed to kick it into high gear because um, our bed is coming in tomorrow.  We ordered the West Elm Diamond Tufted Headboard and a new bed frame and it has arrived so we are going to pick it up tomorrow.

I have spent the last 4 hours or so cleaning my entire house. Sometimes I go on these cleaning rampages and I just don't stop until everything is spotless.  I think the cleaning fumes have gotten to me, lol.

Our new bed is my birthday present from my husband and I can't wait to show it to you guys!  Our bedroom is very neglected decor-wise, because I wanted to focus my decor efforts (and budget) on rooms we hang out in all of the time (ie: our living room area.) I can't wait to give our bedroom some much-deserved TLC!  I'm going to get new bed sheets too...and throw pillows...but don't tell my husband... I have a pillow addiction so I have to nonchalantly just buy them at the register acting like nothing's goin' on! (I hope he doesn't read this hehe!)

(this is our headboard, but in the color "otter" which is a darkish gray)

Now onto a review. I mentioned a few posts ago that I had purchased La Roche Posay's new fluid sunscreen (called Anthelios SPF 60).  This is a product I feel is going to be a HG product for me, for so many reasons:

1.  It's a fluid, so you don't have to use a lot and it spreads so easily
2. No harsh scent
3. Leaves skin matte
4. Doesn't look or feel like you are wearing sunscreen
5. Looks incredible under makeup
6. Makeup still looks great hours later, even after being in the sun

La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid for Face, 1.7-Ounce Bottle

I believe I paid $29.00 for a bottle of this sunscreen, but since I only use it when I'll be outside for long periods of time (like pool days) the cost feels justified to me.  I really love it.  I know Kiehl's has come out with a similar product called Super Fluid UV Defense but I haven't tried that one.  It is a bit pricier than the LRP sunscreen.
Kiehls Super Fluid Uv Defense 1.7 Oz

I will definitely post pictures tomorrow. Thank you again to everyone who left lovely comments and birthday wishes. I appreciate you all <3

xoxo,

Veronika.
